Save Your Breast

Angelina Jolie just announced that she had both of her breasts surgically removed even though; she does not have any breast cancer at the moment.  She has a mutation in her BRCA1 gene that greatly increases her predisposition to cancer. With the discovery of epigenetics we know that genes are not enough to cause disease, but the conditions surrounding our cells will cause certain genes to express themselves.  There are thousands of woman with the same gene nowadays and they don’t have any breast cancer, and that is because they live a completely healthy and anti-cancer lifestyle, they feed their bodies a diet rich in whole foods nutrients, free of cancer causing chemicals and with plenty of sunshine and exercise. We could have the most perfect rose seed, but if we plant it on a desert, it will never grow.
Following the same approach, we could assume that in order to prevent ovarian cancer, a woman with that specific gene should get rid of her ovaries, even when she is perfectly healthy at the moment and there is no condition that would make that gene to express. Maybe cutting off my testicles now, even though I had been perfectly healthy for over 15 years, will assure me that I won’t have testicle cancer in the future.
The sad part of the story is that the mainstream media now says that Jolie should be admire for her bravery, and as a result, thousands of woman all over the world will follow her example and mutilate their own bodies for a disease that they don’t have, and possibly will never occur.
If we live a healthy lifestyle, according to the laws of nature, we can achieve optimal health, and optimal health can easily overcome cancer; can easily overcome any disease. We cannot buy a cure, but we can earn our health.
