The Dancer in Me. Part One (192)

The music starts, the lights flash on and the stage is uncovered. It’s the last call to places and I can feel everyone’s adrenaline going through the roof. My heart rate increases, my stomach is filled with butterflies, and standing in the wings of the stage, I wait for my cue to begin dancing. Ballet had been part of my life for over nineteen years. Almost two decades of music and dance combining together to create an unspoken language that allows me to tell stories with my body, and where every single character of those stories, will always reflect part of who I am.
The way I dance not only represents the unique style associated to the academy I went to, but it also says a lot about me and how dance had influenced my life. Watching some of the best dancers in the world and knowing that some of then come from the same place I come, had made me always try hard and dream big. Ballet has taught me to persevere and to always find a way to improve, not just as a dancer, but also as a human being.
